Munashi Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 The title sums it up, I'd say. When do PhD programs typically interview their applicants? I just submitted a few applications with Dec 1 deadlines (I/O psych) and I'm wondering if interviews will ALWAYS be after the holidays or if I need to prepare sooner than that. I don't believe anywhere I applied to does rolling admission.
PsychGirl1 Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 I mostly applied to clinical, but also some non-clinical programs. All my interviews occurred between mid-January and the end of February. I think that's generally pretty standard.
iphi Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Usually in February. Many programs list interview dates on their websites, or you can use the "Results Search" on this forum to find out when people had interviews at your schools in previous years. gellert 1
kaister Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Typically from January and on…but I wouldn't rule out phone interviews in December.
BeingThere Posted November 15, 2013 Posted November 15, 2013 Many I/O programs do not interview. Some professors will do a phone "interview," but very few I/O programs use interviews as part of their decision process. I know that none of the programs I applied to will do formal interviews. (I applied only to I/O programs.) Munashi 1
