MissData
Hi Everyone! I'm applying to quantitative psychology programs for Fall 2014. I had 6 schools on my list, all of the applications but 1 were due December 1st - 5th. I've already heard back from one of my top schools and been "soft accepted" which essentially means they still need department approval, but in his email my POI said "there is essentially no chance this recommendation will be not be acted upon favorably." So I still have one application due on January 6th, and I'm wondering if I should even submit it. It's already done, all my materials are sent, I just need to press the submit button and pay the $80 to be considered. This school has always been one of my "safety schools" but what if I go and really love it? I feel like there is so much to learn from interviews about social fit in your program that I might be passing up on a big opportunity. What do you guys think? sunpenguin
Since you've already done all the work, if you can afford the $80, I say go ahead and submit it. The soft acceptance sounds great, but until you have it in writing, why not do everything you can to improve your chances of finding a good program and a good fit? wisescience
katiegud
I would submit it. It's possible that one or the other could offer you a better funding package or something, so it's worth doing if you've already completed the work.
