Tim126
Generally speaking, in online application, is it okay to upload the report from ETS website, instead of paying ETS to send GRE score to graduate schools and departments? Can l only pay ETS to send GRE score to a school, if I am admitted into it? What bad things will happen? By the way, I am applying to statistics PhD programs. unbrokenthread
If the application allows it, that's OK. But you will need to check with each program individually to see if they require you to pay ETS to send them official scores in order for your application to be complete. About half my schools required that.
Tim126
Is it to ask the department or the graduate school for such questions, in general?
alyoshakaramazov
Is it to ask the department or the graduate school for such questions, in general? I would strongly advise against that. The vibe I get from such a question is that you're trying to cut corners.
Icydubloon
Send the official report.
TakeruK
Usually each school will be very clear whether or not you need to send an ETS report ahead of time. If they are not clear, then definitely ask, I think. Schools understand that applications cost a lot. However, while most of my schools accepted unofficial transcripts, almost all of them want official GRE scores.
