cbttcher Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 I just wanted to send my GRE results to UConn and now it doesn't say that they even want the GRE results? And now I'm scared that I'm missing something... Does anyone know anything about this? http://www.languages.uconn.edu/graduate/admissions.php That's one link with requirements. http://www.languages.uconn.edu/graduate/phd.php All the way at the bottom, there are requirements again.
aGiRlCalLeDApPlE Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 What's weird about a school not asking for the GRE? Some schools don't require it at all, and others say it's recommended but not required.
cbttcher Posted January 9, 2014 Author Posted January 9, 2014 What's weird about a school not asking for the GRE? Some schools don't require it at all, and others say it's recommended but not required. It's not weird really. I just don't want to miss anything, you know?
aGiRlCalLeDApPlE Posted January 9, 2014 Posted January 9, 2014 Don't you have time to call or e-mail them? My schools' websites state directly what they need regarding to the GRE. I don't think it should be the kind of info that tend to be hidden between the lines. I think you might find a clue when you start your online application? cbttcher 1
hj2012 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Man, some graduate school websites are really difficult to understand, especially the ones with separate applications for the grad school admissions dept and the actual department itself. I can understand the confusion, which is why I second Rose Egypt's suggestion to email the department directly to confirm. Best of luck with your applications! cbttcher 1
cbttcher Posted January 11, 2014 Author Posted January 11, 2014 I finally got a reply this morning my time (or 12:30 am EST) from one of the professors and he said that the graduate school requires the GRE. Luckily, I already sent it as a precaution. But it's really annoying that it's so unclear because the grad school website says that you only have to send the GRE General/Subject results if the department requires them. It's really confusing.
hj2012 Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 Whew! Glad you sent it in ahead of time. But yeah, that's really frustrating and confusing... cbttcher 1
