Most online PhDs are BS, but to answer your question, I am sure you can get one in just about anything from a diploma mill.

 

I am pretty sure Johns Hopkins has a MSc in Bioinformatics that's mostly online.

1) No.

2) You do NOT want to do a PhD online for a variety of reasons.

 

There are several legitimate MS programs in bioinformatics that are fully online, though.  Johns Hopkins, Stanford, NYU-Poly, Maryland, UMDNJ,

Thanks for the replies.  Ya, I thought online PhD programs look sketchy, especially the ones in the sciences.  Thanks for listing the schools with online MS programs in Bioinformatics.
