How to inform your LoR that you didn't get in?

I may have to do this, but what should (and how) if you didn't get in anywhere?

I emailed them, told them I didn't get in anywhere, and that I will have to trouble them again for letters for the next cycle. 

 

I got really nice replies back from them. Hoping I don't have to do this again this year!

I also just sent emails. Fortunately, I was *finally* able to email that I had been accepted somewhere. Before, though, I got back some very nice, encouraging responses. They know what it's like...
