I've applied to five schools (all Ph.D.), both in Canada and U.S., and waiting for results. Yet, I haven't heard back from any school. It's REALLY hard to just sit and wait, though I know there aren't other options...

How are you coping with the stress? And if you have heard back from any schools, could you share? Thank you all!

Hello there!

I've applied for UBC, U of Toronto, Indiana U, U of Michigan, and Penn State. All LLC, LLED, and the like. But I chose applied linguistics for Penn State.

Except for Penn State, all the other schools had a quite early deadline (Dec. 1 or 2) but so far I haven't heard anything..

If you don't mind me asking who do you want to work with at UIUC? I am currently in the program now.

If you feel more comfortable to send me a personal message then that is fine as well. Good luck!

It is really soooooo hard waiting.  It seems like the sciences are getting the admissions decisions much faster than other disciplines…or is that just me being paranoid?  Or perhaps that's common knowledge….

Anyway, we're talking life decisions here, people…please please please let the notifications come soon!

Anyone hear from Indiana U. - Literacy, Culture & Language Education PhD?

So far I couldn't hear anything from the program.

For language and literacy emphasis, I applied UC Santa Barbara and Stanford (in their SHIPS emphasis). There were two acceptances posted on results page VERY early in January (Deadline was in mid-December so I was really surprised and confused by that). No news other than seeing those. Anyone have Santa Barbara info? Stanford says Feb. 15.

Hi Coco,

Have you heard from UBC yet?

My partner applied to UBC also, but she hasn't had any news so far.

Good luck!

Hi, I applied for IU, too. Just got accepted. What department did you apply for? Studies in second language or Education department?

Hi, it seems that they're just done with the review process. I just wrote a letter to ask about my status and they replied with the results, also saying the packet is airmailed and will take a while to reach me.

So far I couldn't hear anything from the program.
