dtpowis Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Similarly, I was asked if there were any books that I've read that set me on my path. (I'm a rabid bibliophile, so I pretty much nailed that one.) HrdyWordy 1
NoSleepTilBreuckelen Posted February 8, 2014 Posted February 8, 2014 Ooh, that's a good one dptowis! And a fun one, it could lead to some interesting conversations
HrdyWordy Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Similarly, I was asked if there were any books that I've read that set me on my path. (I'm a rabid bibliophile, so I pretty much nailed that one.) I like this! And it seems like a fun brain exercise in general. Yes... I'm a nerd. This thread is great, though. I am really liking all the thought provoking ideas.
Jump Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Had an interview today, that I feel went very well. I did get asked one question that I was not really expecting: What classes do you think you would benefit from in our department?
danaofdoom Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I am SO GLAD I read this thread today because I had a phone interview with zero time to prepare. The questions they asked were about my research interests, the research I am doing now and if I wanted to continue doing that. Thankfully I've had to speak about my senior thesis quite a bit, so I think I got the point across well despite being incredibly nervous. They also asked if I had any questions about their program. So be prepared to ask some intelligent questions about the program you're applying to.
