I did my undergrad at CSUN and applied last year to the distance learning program.  What insight did you want? I know most the professors for the online masters.  I know that you need to find your own preceptors(SLP's that will monitor you).  I also have heard that if you are already an SLPA, they prefer that since it shows you will easily find someone to be your preceptor.

Well the thing is that you should be working as an SLPA or externing with an SLP the whole time so that gives you experience as you do all of the course work online.

What is the workload like for the online program? Everytime I have called, they are using a scare tactic, saying it's the most difficult program known to man. I am a new mommy and want a real expectation on the workload. Thank you!

I know a facebook group where some current students hang out. If you'd like, send me a pm, and I'll give you the information.

All distance education programs that I've researched require you to find your own externships, and most of them don't allow it to be as a paid SLPA. It stinks since distance ed students can't get scholarships so I have to pay more for less faculty support. That's life, though, if you can't do a traditional program for whatever reason. (Mine is that none of them are by me.)
