Hey guys! I'm finishing up all of my applications for the Feb 1st Deadline. I've finished everything for my CUNY Lehman application except in the "Course Equivalent" section, I am given "Speech Pathology I" and "Speech Pathology II." Clearly those are really vague so I emailed the department asking for a clarification. She wrote back (and I quote) "speech pathology 1 - functional disorders

Speech Pathology 2 - Organic disorders." I don't know what these translate into. The only courses I think they could relate to are "Intro to Communication Disorders," "Disorders of Child Language," and/or "Diagnosis in Speech-Language Pathology."

If anyone here went to SUNY New Paltz, you'd probably have the best idea about this.

HOPE YOU CAN HELP! GOOD LUCK WITH EVERYTHING!

I would not sweat it and make your best attempt to match up the course equivalents.  It will be evident you took the courses you needed to apply.

So do you think it's alright if I just leave the "organic disorders" course blank?

For Speech Path I, I'd put Intro to Communications Disorders

For Speech Path II, I'd put Diagnosis  in Speech Language Pathology.

If you want you can provide them, a copy of your course descriptions.  I took my prereqs at Lehman who did reach out to? I can probably give you a better contact.

Hey thanks so much! :) I will totally do that. I spoke with Liat Seiger. I have already provided Lehman with my Official Transcripts so I imagine that if there's any discrepancy, they'll look to my transcript to see what would translate. :) Thanks again!

I attended the open house at Lehman at the end of October, and was told that if you have your bachelor's in CDSc you do not have to fill out the section entitled "Course Equivalents". I was still confused, as well, when I was filling out the application! I emailed the school, and was told that I didn't have to fill out "Course Equivalents" or "Speech Courses", because the school will look at my transcript for grades and GPA. I hope this is helpful! :)

I actually received an e-mail from someone in the Speech-Pathology department who told me this exact thing! So thank you! :) Good luck in your application process! :)
