Hello everyone.
I graduated from the University of Michigan with Psychology and Communication Studies degree.
I am planning to apply to Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) master's degree and Information Science master's degree.

For those of who do not know, HCI is an interdisciplinary field, combining mainly computer science, cognitive psychology, and design.

I have two GRE scores and I have trouble deciding which one to send for my application.

Score 1: Verbal: 158 (78%) / Quantitative: 165 (91%) / Writing: 4.0 (58%)
Score 2: Verbal: 162 (89%) / Quantitative: 161 (81%) / Writing: 4.5 (78%)

These two scores have the same combined verbal and quantitative scores, but the second score has slightly higher writing score.
I know many of you are probably thinking that second score is obviously better. But the only reason why I am still struggling is because my major was in psychology and communications and I have no coursework involving quantitative skills. So I figured the only way for me to prove my competency in quantitative skill is through GRE. And from this perspective, Score 1 looks like a better option.
However, Score 2 looks more balanced in all three sections.

Please share your thoughts on my score please.
Please let me know if there is any other information that I may provide to help you understand my situation better.
Thank you so much.

Exactly what monochrome said. Submit both! The other thing is that you have 9 or 10 more months before you apply if you are planning to apply for Fall 2015. You could always take it again if you really wanted to. But really, lots of Master's programs don't even ask for GRE scores. Mine didn't!

Thank you for your reply Monochrome and iphi.

However, many of the schools that I am applying to only accepts one GRE score. So sending both scores is not a feasible option for me.

Furthermore, I am actually on the verge of completing my application for Fall 2014 Admission, so I won't have time to retake my GRE.

Sorry for not including this information before.

Again, thank you for your thoughts, I really appreciate it.

In that case, submit the first for quant heavy programs, and submit the second for other programs, or programs with score cutoffs. You can also email/call the departments to ask which ones they weigh more heavily.

Overall though, I think the second one, regardless of your weaker quantitative background.
