lia14 Posted February 1, 2014 Posted February 1, 2014 Hello guys, I'm having a bit of a situation here. I want to study Economics in Germany because I want to improve my German (which is below C1, therefore I can't apply for a German-taught bachelor's degree). However, to my surprise, I wasn't able to find any university with a good reputation which offers this kind of programmes (they were new unis or nobody's heard of them or both). Do I have terrible search skills or there is no good German university with courses in English? Please let me know if you've been in the same situation or if you have any information about the topic. Thanks in advance!
Leo_K Posted February 13, 2014 Posted February 13, 2014 Oh, almost my situation. I can reccomend you such univs, as Frankfurt-Goethe & Hamburg. These two do have Econ in English.
lia14 Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 Thank you, I'm gonna e-mail them ASAP. However, do you know anything about Halle-Wittenberg or Viadrina? The latter is really new (founded in 1991) so they're offering a lot of bonuses, but I can't decide whether that's because they're at the beginning or people don't want to study there xD
Calamari2013 Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 (edited) I suggest you check Univ of Bonn, Mannheim and Goettingen (the latter offers a masters program in dev econ) oh sorry, it seems u want to do a BSc not a grad program. Not sure if there are good undergraduate programs in english over there... Edited February 18, 2014 by Calamari2013
inmytime Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Check out GSEMF (http://gsefm.eu/gsefm-an-introduction/key-features-of-gsefm.html). Located in Frankford, co-founded by three great universities.
lia14 Posted March 13, 2014 Author Posted March 13, 2014 Leo_K, they got back to me but unfortunately they do not have any 100% English programmes. Camalari2013, I also reached this conclusion. I suppose I just need to start studying for the C1 diploma in German... inmytime, thank you, I checked it but apparently it's only for graduate students, while I'm looking for a bachelor.
