emikate51 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 I finished my undergrad in SLP in 3 years and you could say I rush things a lot. I've taken three or four of the classes I'll need in grad school (depending on program) this year in undergrad. I'm planning to take a full load each semester and do as many clinical hours as possible, I'm just wondering if anyone has graduate from their master's program in SLP before the standard 2 years. I know it's not likely and I'll have to talk to my advisor if I get accepted, just wanted to see if anyone's done it! Thanks!
lisa19 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Most programs I've researched have 5 semesters of clinic, so even if you don't have to take academic classes for a semester it is likely you'll need to take the standard 2 years to graduate. I'm sure every program is different though, and I'm sure there's exceptions! I am also wondering - how were you able to take those graduate level courses?
twinguy7 Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 There are at least 2 schools with accelerated programs, Grand Valley State and University of the Pacific(Stockton). They are both only 15months. You finish everything in a year and the last semester you do the medical externship wherever you want in the U.S. So essentially your only there at the school for a year!
SLPamy Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Some schools start in the summer so you could finish school a semester early. I think University of Illinois offered that.
