DCguy Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I received an informal email from the DGS at NC-Greensboro last week that I was put on the wait list. I never even really thought of that as an option. Since I have now been rejected by 3 of 6 others. My palms are getting sweaty all the time. Google isn't really helpful because it's mostly about other professional programs (law, medical, etc.). I got some encouragement from my M.A. mentor, he said we just got to play the waiting (haha) game now. So I should hear back in the next few weeks. I don't know if I should be encouraged or discouraged by this news.
czesc Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 Encouraged. Even if it's just a consolation prize for UNC-G, it's better than a rejection and means you've got a shot at getting in somewhere, if you haven't already. Brisingamen and Humanenvironment 2
sankofa Posted February 10, 2014 Posted February 10, 2014 I think you should take it as positive news. I applied to uncg and was rejected. So at least there is still hope IMO
Brisingamen Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 The waitlist is so much better than a rejection outright -- you still have a chance of being bumped up and accepted! It's irritating having ti wait when you'd hoped for a concrete decision, but hang in there. All the best to you.
Henry Hudson Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 yes, it prolongs the agony, but don't give up hope!
DCguy Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 Thanks for the encouragement. I've only hot a few apps out. My top 3 rejected me. So here's hoping pretty hard
