I've only seen one person post of their results for UCSD. Has anyone heard anything? Am I just crazy impatient? It's my first choice school, in the sense that I don't expect to get into anywhere else... :P

I think I just need the final blow to my ego at this point, or the boost if I get in! The tic-tac-toe of rejections is starting to get to me.

EDIT: I ask because I'm not sure how many people on this forum applied to UCSD. If I'm the only one on thegradcafe who really cares about this school, I'll stop looking here for information about it. ;)

I haven't heard a word from them either. So don't worry; you're not alone!

I wish they would give some hint that they are actively reviewing our apps instead of the "Under Review" sign that's been on the application for the last month or more.

I am waiting for their decision as well, or even an interview request. It seems like things are going at a slow pace there so don't lose your patience.

My personal recommendation for these tense moments is to watch a tv series marathon (like 30 episodes in one day, from dusk to dawn).

I've gotten an official acceptance email and email to set up travel for the visitation day Mar 13th and 14th. Didn't have any interview. Haven't posted (anything) to the results.

I'm waiting too.

Just hope that its reviewing is not over yet.

Congratulations, tchaikovsky! :)

Guess I'll just sit and wait patiently, then. I'm excited about this school for a million reasons... If I don't get in this time, I'll probably apply again in 2 years when I have my master's!

I looked into previous years' responses. It looks like a big push for PhD replies is February (but not necessarily all done in the same week), then a push for master's comes in March, then a cleanup (rejections and acceptances of what I assume are waitlisted admissions) in early April for both kinds of degrees. :D

I should be doing homework...

This year is different...

Admission for masters should be almost finished now (They sent out a lot during Jan...).

I guess that's why PhD admission seems slower than last year.

I am also waiting for UCSD. Also one of my top choices. I am getting freakingly nervous every time I refresh the results screen, I am afraid that there will be the huge list of acceptances and I am not one of them...  :s ... so I'll keep bitting my nails and let the stress get to my students in their exams!!.. hehehe... (That I should be grading...  :S)  ... Cheers! and let's keep on waiting.

Just to let you know guys, I'll be having an informal interview with POI next week. Really couldn't tell whatever that means in terms of when to expect actual decisions...

(gabosan: punishing students to relieve our admissions anxiety is actually a great idea, I may do that as well =P )

Good luck!! :D

I think they might still consider waitlisted applicants until April, and I imagine that because of the school's position on most people's lists (I know it's not actually this simple) that they let in a good handful of people late.

Like someone gets into UW then turns it down for MIT, which bumps up someone who got waitlisted at UW and was holding onto their UCSD acceptance in the meantime, which frees up a slot at UCSD, etc. Like I pointed out earlier, last year there were changes in application status in April!

(maybe I'm just hopeful XD)

I e-mailed them and I'm still waiting to hear back!

But I found out UCSD is not as good a school for me anyway (based on my research interests), so I'm just going to go ahead and accept the offer from USC! :D

Anyone else have news on the waitlist? I'm in love with UCSD but I wasn't invited to the visit weekend, and I'm going crazy wondering if I've been flat out rejected already.

I'm not sure!! I asked them for an update weeks ago, but still nothing.

I don't know who to e-mail to withdraw my application. This is awkward. >_>

It is April 8th and I still haven't heard back. They didn't even acknowledge I withdrew my application! I wonder if I'll get in anyway? Haha XD
