ballerina18 Posted March 22, 2014 Posted March 22, 2014 I've had two crazy dreams to contribute. The first was a dream I had a few weeks ago. My family and I went out to eat at a restaurant. The manager sat us down and handed me my acceptance menu to graduate school. It was for Idaho State University, but the acceptance "letter" was totally in menu form and it said things like: "Try our tasty classes salted with excellence." "You'll love our crispy clinic hours" "Send in your acceptance to the grad program, get a free chocolate cake dessert!" The manager continued to "upsell" during our meal, by asking if we wanted a yummy cocktail to go with my acceptance and that the ISU program was her favorite menu item. LOL I had a less exciting dream last night. In my dream I received a magazine in the mail, but it ended up being a magazine titled "REJECTION from UNCO". It was filled with pages about how un-qualified I was for the UNCO graduate SLP program. It was just like a real magazine, but it had articles and letters written by current UNCO faculty, staff, and students who went on and on about how I was rejected from the program. YIKES! lol Green Dino and argslp 2
lexical_gap Posted March 23, 2014 Posted March 23, 2014 This is a dream I had last semester during my first month of grad school: I dreamt that I showed up late for my Evaluation & Diagnosis class lecture. The professor who teaches that class and wrote me a LOR to get into grad school, just stopped the lecture to glare at me. He muttered in the "disappointed dad" voice, "Just turn in your homework." I sheepishly mumbled that I forgot we had an assignment due, and thus had nothing to turn in. The professor turned beat red and started hollering at me in front of everyone: "WHAT?!? You come to my class late and unprepared? How dare you disrespect me like that! Especially after I wrote you a letter! Get out of my class! Don't ever come back! In fact, I will recommend your expulsion from the program! Now, get out!" I run out of the building in tears and get to my car. As I'm driving home, sobbing hysterically, it starts to rain. I look in my rearview mirror and see my professor decked out in leather biker gear, chasing after me on his motorcycle. Before I know it, he's trying to run me off the road. After a few attempts, he successfully runs me into the ditch and drives off. *** I woke up in a panic and started frantically searching for the assignment I needed to complete for Eval & Diagnosis. After about 30 seconds, I realized that I wasn't even enrolled in that course! He wasn't teaching any of my courses first semester. I told that professor about the dream and he just laughed. He assured me that he does not actually own or ride a motorcycle. In fact, he is one of the nicest guys I've ever met. madisong23 and Green Dino 2
daisynic Posted March 24, 2014 Posted March 24, 2014 Last night I dreamt I got a huge packet in the mail from Ithaca College (didn't even apply there) and my dad said "Look! Your first acceptance - finally!" and I said "We don't know that yet." When I opened it, it was my application printed out with a huge circle over something I missed that I needed to fix, with a packet about their program. I THINK I had this dream because I got a huge packet in the mail from University at Buffalo the day before, which was oddly addressed to my first name with just my last name initial about transferring to their undergraduate program...it said "thank you for your interest" - which I didn't do, since I graduated with my bachelor's 2 years ago! So strange haha.
bibliophile222 Posted April 3, 2018 Posted April 3, 2018 So since I have nothing better to do I'm just browsing really old threads. This one is pretty awesome and worth starting up again. I haven't had any (interesting) dreams about applications or school, but last week I dreamed that one of my teeth was growing larger and stronger, and someone told me that the others would do the same. I think it's the opposite of missing/loose teeth dreams, which can be about feeling powerless, embarrassed, etc. I took this to mean that with my new stronger teeth I was becoming stronger and taking control of my life. I never thought a dream about a giant tooth would make me feel so uplifted!
