teaganc
and yet I can't sleep. So much stress wondering if I will ever get off the waitlist, and knowing that if I don't, I can't go to grad school next year. Sooo... I've decided to offer unsolicited decisions to all of the threads that are like, "OMG I can't pick a school!" Not all this, long-winded-actually-well-thought-out advice stuff, oh no. Just straight-up decisions. I hope my tireless efforts are appreciated. What are you doing to pass the time?
belowthree
Reading your straight up decisions and seeing how many I agree with. You seem to be keeping yourself in good spirits, hope things go well! Undecideds should take advantage of this offer, just don't blame teaganc later!
teaganc
Reading your straight up decisions and seeing how many I agree with. Well, I suppose that's acceptable. As long as you don't start trying to take over my business model. I depend on being the only insta-decision monkey in town, you know? I think a competitor might put me out of business. Where there exist one person to provide actual real decisions there becomes room for an infinite amount of additional people as talking heads to provide commentary and banter. It's not competition, it's coverage.
jasper.milvain
If you're bored, do you wanna write my MA graduating project for me? It's kind of dragging.
ElusiveMuse
It is sort of evil how this soul-sucking process coincides with the necessity of writing MA theses, doesn't it? I emotionally detached from my waitlisted schools a while ago.

I went to a visit weekend and this girl was agonizing about a decision that was not yet hers to make (hadn't been offered a spot at either school yet): "Oh my god...how will I decide between [good school but not ranked for subfield] and [very high ranked school for subfield and overarching field]?" I was like, "Whatever! Like there is any contest between these schools. If you get in to [the latter school] that's where you are going, don't be silly." I don't think she appreciated my matter-of-fact approach to her pseudo-problem, probably because she wanted her audience to indulge her and give her well-thought-out responses... I'm glad other people think it's funny and not just terrible. I really mean to be uplifting the general worry of this board into absurdity, but sometimes I'm not sure if it's actually humor or if I've started to go crazy with lack of sleep. But then again, if you don't appreciate decision monkey, maybe you take the internet too seriously.
teaganc
If you're bored, do you wanna write my MA graduating project for me? It's kind of dragging. I will happily do so. I shall name it, "Allusions to the Drama Llama in the Gothic Novel: An In-depth Look at Camelid Appearances in The Castle of Otranto." I hope that's okay. teaganc
Where were you last year or in spring 06 when I needed you?!? Decision Monkey has many responsibilities. She was probably helping some poor soul on another messageboard. For all of 2006 and 2008.
