sacarius Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Hi, I'm going to be starting my MS Mechanical Engineering in the Fall. Is now too soon to contact professors that I would like to be my advisor? Or, should I wait until my first semester? I'm the first in my family to obtain a grad degree, so this is a new experience for me and I don't have anyone around to ask. Thanks everyone! -me
optimistic09 Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I don't think it is ever too early. I started contacting people well before I even applied. Plus many professors are applying for and finding out about funding right now, so this would be the perfect time. You will at least be able to find out if the professor you're interested has an opening or not.
