YooperLucy Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Thought i'd start this forum for potential, accepted, and rejected WSU applicants for PhD's in either comp/rhet or literature
Imaginary Posted March 20, 2014 Posted March 20, 2014 Wayne State? I was accepted, but without funding. I probably won't be going.
YooperLucy Posted March 20, 2014 Author Posted March 20, 2014 I'm sorry I should have clarified, Washington State University in Pullman.
francheese Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I was wait listed. The email I received assured I had a better than 50/50 chance of admittance with a TA position. I'll admit, I made all of the grad school application follies, including having "safety schools" or what have you. I don't have my heart set on WSU but then again, I don't know too much about the school. I know the Rhet/Comp program looks great though. What are your thoughts? Why did you choose WSU?
shortstack51 Posted March 25, 2014 Posted March 25, 2014 I'm first on the wait list but it looks like I'll be declining my spot. I know someone who did their MA there for lit, so if anyone has any questions about the area/the school feel free to ask.

I know a student who went to WSU for their MA as well and absolutely loved it!

I choose to apply to WSU because of a professor there who's research interest lined directly with mine. What about you? Did they give you any indication as to where you fell on the waitlist?

No, they didn't give me indication... though I thought it was odd that he promised a good chance for admission AND a TA position...
