rocky2 Posted April 19, 2009 Share Posted April 19, 2009 i have accepted an offer from univ of notre dame for phd in mechanical engineering field? also prof research work matches my field of interest very much . but How gud is this univ for a phd in mech/engineering? will it make my job-hunting easy (after phd)? and the prof is a recent pass-out from purdue..not that experienced one... any info you have abt this univ is welcome... please chip in with ur comments... It would have made good sense to find out the answers to the questions you asked before applying, and you should definitely know the answers before accepting any offer. Have you tried looking at Notre dame's website? Official rankings? Most schools post information about the success of their recent graduates that will give you a good idea of what you can expect when you graduate from there yourself. SO i really dont have a choice. so i accepted it around April 13th. i had apped to 6 univ around jan 31st.. but professor research matches with my res interests very much. but i cant see any faculties from ND anywhere (atleast in mechanical eng.) any idea abt normal jobs and faculty jobs for a phd guy from ND..
