MeursaultM Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 So.. I have acceptances from both Columbia MS&E and the Dartmouth MEM and am trying to decide which might be a better fit. While I have a financial aid offer to dartmouth, I have none from columbia which would make it definitely more expensive to go to columbia. But i think columbia would be better in terms of career opportunities (maybe?) What do you guys think?
starofdawn Posted April 3, 2014 Posted April 3, 2014 If I'm not wrong - MS&E = mat sci & eng and MEM = masters in engineering management Two very different programs! Are these two engineering disciplines ranked evenly in your book?

starofdawn Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 MS&E is actually management science and Engineering. Ah! I see. I'm not very knowledgeable about Engineering management degrees, but as an outsider... Columbia and Dartmouth both have the "ivy league" title. They seem pretty similar to me, I wouldn't have known that Columbia is ranked higher unless you told me. Hope my opinion helps.
Vene Posted April 4, 2014 Posted April 4, 2014 Dartmouth is an excellent school and it's generally best practice to follow the money.
