offer with different prof

Should I take an offer with a different prof than my POI, focused on similar work with different pop OR take position within my area, but not exactly the approach I want to take, but better clinical experience?

i meant clinical practica experience. i can seek out externships with first offer.

I think it depends on what you want to do.

 

Do you want to be a clinician?  Then better clinical experience may be more important to you, and you may want to take on the better clinical experience.

 

Do you want to be a researcher/academic/professor at a college or university?  Then take the better research fit.

I want to have a fairly balanced role as a researcher and clinician/clinical supervisor and that's where my struggle is. In either case, I will seek out other opportunities (post docs/internship/practica) to be fully trained in all aspects of my interests/goals. I guess I have to decide what I value more now.
