sunrays21 Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hey guys! I'm looking into finding an online statistics course to take over summer before I start graduate school, and I was wondering if anyone knew any affordable online stats courses available? thanks!
ljhslp Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 I have to take one this summer too. All of the ones I found were in that 800-1000 dollar range. It's absolutely ridiculous! I'm taking mine through Southwest Minnesota State University because it's the shortest one I could find (less than 30 days).
gwualum4mpp Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Hey guys! I'm looking into finding an online statistics course to take over summer before I start graduate school, and I was wondering if anyone knew any affordable online stats courses available? thanks! Are you looking to take the course for credit, or just to prepare on the subject matter? I am using this free MOOC course for the latter: http://www.saylor.org/courses/ma121/. It's free and self-paced, which is nice for me since I don't want to start stressing over school and deadlines sooner than I need to. I found it by googling "mooc intro to statistics" and sorting through options. good luck!
sunrays21 Posted May 5, 2014 Author Posted May 5, 2014 Thanks guys for responding! I'm actually trying to find a course for credit so I can be done with it lol
Green Dino Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 UCSD Extension offers Introduction to Statistics for $650: http://extension.ucsd.edu/studyarea/index.cfm?vAction=singleCourse&vCourse=CSE-41069 This online course runs from 6/30/14 to 09/01/14. Hope that helps!
Missthang Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Make sure that it is the correct class before taking it. I had already took a "math" statistics course, then a year later had to take psyc. stats because my adviser said that ASHA was requiring that type of course over the regular stats... Total bs but I did it anyways. I think there should be tons of universities that offer it online (I took mine online last spring semester and it was a somewhat easy A), but if you're looking to save some $ then you might need to do a little more research to find the lowest cost.

tlsstc Posted May 13, 2014 Posted May 13, 2014 SUNY Purchase has an online statistics course for the behavioral sciences. It's 3 weeks long, I think. It was maybe $750 for in state, more for out of state.
