Hi there!  I am looking to re-apply to SLP graduate schools for the 2015 season (both spring and fall) and I was wondering which schools look at the last 60 credits or place more emphasis on the last 60 credits rather than 4 years of work?  I know James Madison is one of them.

Thanks for the help! :D

I applied to all schools that look at the last 60 units/credits so just take a look at my signature below for 15 schools who look at last 60.

Hmmmm....  Experience wise I worked as a teachers assistant in a Resource Specialist Class for a year, worked in Nueroscience(nuerofeedback) for a year with a population from 5-80yrs old.  I worked as an SLPA for a school year.  I lived in Brazil for 2 years and speak Portuguese and am somewhat conversational in Spanish.  I also did my HW as to what schools to apply to.  I emailed probably more than 100 schools who seemed to be easier to get into because of my overall GPA.  After talking to all of those schools I still had about 30 schools I potentially could of applied to, but got it down to 15.

Of the 15 I applied to there are a few that I wouldn't recommend applying to.  I found out after that they either take mostly their own or really don't take people with my stats, they just wanted the $$$ from the application.  I wouldn't recommend applying to U of Montana, West Texas AM, Texas AM-Kingsville,  and Western Carolina University.

Thank you so much!! That is very helpful!! I am thinking to try CSUN. I am a bilingual as well. I also studied German and trying to learn Spanish which is highly important in SoCal I see. I have worked as an English Language Teacher in Turkey for 7 years. I have done 25 hours of observation here in USA in a school district, just to get some general idea. Also volunteered in a Rehab again to see how it is with seniors. I just do not have any work experience here in US. This is my second year here and I am an online student of USU taking prerequisites. Online masters would work perfect for me. I am wondering me having no work experience here would affect my application in a bad way? :(

I saw that you got rejected from CSUN though... My GRE is awful, I am studying for it for a better score. I am not a native, so it is like hell for me.  I am just trying to decide on what to do. I do not want to waste my time for something that I can never get.. During my observation hours, I loved the department! I feel like I can do it.

Thanks again.

twinguy, so which one applies to West Texas AM?  Do they take their own students or they don't accept people with your stats?  Do you know for sure?

I know they dont take my stats, but I also was in direct contact with the program coordinator and I found her to give me false information in regards to my application.  Something that I think is very un-professional.

I see.  Yes, that is not very nice if she gave you false information.
