How is a school psychologist using CBM data to evaluate students?

I am an elementary school teacher and a graduate student in the school psychology program at Fort Hays State University. I am taking a CBM course and required to post a question about the implementation of CBM in school. At my school, school psychologists do not participate in the CBM program at all. I am just wondering how a school psychologist can use CBM data to evaluate his/her students? Can they use CBM data as part of the psychological evaluation and special education placement decisions? I thank you for any suggestions.
