collage19
Does anybody know the PhD communication programs that have a strong thrust towards tech and feminism?
ProfLorax
University of Maryland! I'm in the English Department, but I have taken courses in the Comm Department. You can get a minor certificate in Women and Gender Studies, and we have MITH (Maryland Institute for Technology in the Humanities).
collage19
Thanks a lot! Do I have to apply in the English Department then?
ProfLorax
Nope, they have a Communications Department: http://www.comm.umd.edu/graduate/overview
biisis
McGill's AHCS is a good pick. NYU's MCC is also quite nice! It's really just a question of finding a rad prof, I think, rather than jumping through the hoops of a feminist/womens' studies supplementary degree option. lyrehc
You can focus on technology and feminism most places. It's probably better to either find a specific faculty member you want to work with OR find a program that has a really good methodological approach for you that will support your research.
