omg Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 Is it true that if international applicants don't achieve the minimum TOEFL score, say 3 points less, required by each school, then schools won't even bother to review their applications and dump their applications?
misskira Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Yes. The graduate school at a university often has a minimum requirement that departments have to uphold. For example: http://gradschool.uoregon.edu/admissions/non-native-english-speakers Edited November 12, 2014 by misskira
perpetuavix Posted November 12, 2014 Posted November 12, 2014 If they clearly set a minimum standard and you submit an application anyway, why should they look at your application? Just like you don't want to waste your time and money, the school doesn't either. I would recommend you raise your scores or look elsewhere.
omg Posted November 12, 2014 Author Posted November 12, 2014 (edited) Thanks so much for answering. Then, since you can't cancel your score reports, if you send 2 scores, do schools consider your highest score? Edited November 12, 2014 by omg
