mb712 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I've taken the GRE twice. Take one: 157 V (74%), 149 Q (37%), 4 AW (56%). Take two: 155 V (67%), 150 Q (40%), 4 AW (56%). I realize the scores aren't drastically different, but I'm still having a hard time deciding which I should send to the rest of my schools (that didn't get both already with the 4 'free' sends). The quant is a poor score for both takes, and I'm not sure 3% difference even matters with two scores that are that low. I'm wondering if my 7% verbal is enough to warrant just sending the scores from take one and hoping the quant doesn't eliminate me from consideration. (FWIW: I'm not applying to fields that are heavy in math, I also have 3 graduate level research methods and analysis classes + the professor from those as a letter writer) Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!
ashiepoo72 Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 I'd go for the higher verbal if you aren't applying to math-intensive programs. Your quant scores really aren't that different, whereas your verbal jumped a good amount. May I ask what your field is? That would help in determining which score is most important.
iphi Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 Honestly, I would send both sets of scores! Most schools take the highest scores you have earned for each subtest.
jujubea Posted November 24, 2014 Posted November 24, 2014 What ashiepoo said. Also what iphi said, if your institution does that (none of mine do).
mb712 Posted November 25, 2014 Author Posted November 25, 2014 ashie, I'm applying to mostly social psychology programs.
