wewers78 Posted December 5, 2014 Posted December 5, 2014 Does anyone have any insight into becoming a dialect coach or accent reduction specialist? I have a background in theater and I fell in love with learning dialects. I would love to dialect coach. I am applying to SLP grad schools for next Fall. I don't think there are any programs which focus on this, but, just in case, I thought I'd check in with you all and see if anyone knows otherwise. Any SLP programs out there that focus on dialects or accent reduction?
tex_hart Posted December 6, 2014 Posted December 6, 2014 UT Dallas has an accent reduction practicum opportunity available to all students.

SLP2B_2k16 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 I went to George Washington in DC for my undergrad, and they have a pretty big accent reduction client base. Because of the locations, they see a lot of clients (politicians, academics from other countries) who come in for accent reduction for professional reasons. I attend grad school elsewhere but I remember that being the case a few years ago when I was in undergrad.
