  1. Anyone know of any MA or MFA in Theatre Education or Theatre that definitely do NOT require the GRE? I know that at Emerson College for an MA in Theatre Education, submitting your GRE is optional.
  2. It's now June 7 and no word from LIU Brooklyn. Anyone else?
  3. Do you know which schools have a 40% or higher acceptance rate?
  4. I still haven't heard anything. I didn't get an interview, so it's unlikely I'll get in. But, I'd still like to know what's going on. Anyone else in the same boat and not heard yet?
  5. It's now April 28 and I haven't heard anything from LIU Brooklyn. Anyone else still waiting?
  6. The LIU portal is the online application, correct? I checked and it says my file is incomplete. However, when I emailed to double check with them that they had all of my application materials, they said that they have everything they need from me.
  7. Anyone else not heard yet from LIU Brooklyn? It's my last hope. 6 out of 7 no's. LIU Brooklyn is my last shot.
  8. Can someone please tell me how I can add the part where it says where I'm applying, rejected, accepted, etc. to my profile on here?
  9. Thank you! Upon looking up ENMU, I also found that UNM does part time also.
  10. I am applying to Mercy. This is my first time applying. Can't apply to Lehman or Brooklyn, as I haven't taken the GRE. I believe Mercy offers part time, no?
  11. Hi all! Anyone know of a list of part time graduate programs for SLP/Communication Disorders?
  12. Does anyone have any insight into becoming a dialect coach or accent reduction specialist? I have a background in theater and I fell in love with learning dialects. I would love to dialect coach. I am applying to SLP grad schools for next Fall. I don't think there are any programs which focus on this, but, just in case, I thought I'd check in with you all and see if anyone knows otherwise. Any SLP programs out there that focus on dialects or accent reduction?
  13. Oooh, that's good to know! I've already emailed several of the schools I'm applying to and most of them say that it should be ok. One of the schools really wants to see the syllabus and seems shaky about my astronomy course counting towards the physics req. I really appreciate your input!!
  14. I knew it was a long shot, but just had to ask! I am almost 15 years out of undergrad. I took an astronomy course in college which was very physics based. At least that was how I remember it, but the university where I took it from tells me that it is currently very general ed based and they don't think it will suffice for a Physics requirement. So, I was hoping my high school Physics would suffice. I knew it was a long shot!!!
  15. Hi all! This is probably going to be a very dumb question, but I have to ask! Would my high school senior year Physics class count towards the ASHA Physical science requirement? Or does it have to be a college credit course?
  16. Hi, Anyone take an 8 week class from ENMU, Articulation Disorders in particular? Wondering if I can manage the work load of an 8 week course along with 2 other 16 week courses. Look forward to hearing from someone enrolled at ENMU who has taken an online 8 week course. And even better if that class was Articulation Disorders!
  17. Hi all, I am applying to grad schools for Fall 2015. I started pre reqs at USU this Fall. I will take pre reqs up through the summer. I don't have any observation/work/volunteer experience under my belt, as this is a pretty sudden career switch. It is mid/late October now and applications will be due in a few months. I am corresponding with a speech clinic to do some volunteer work for them, but their orientation session keeps getting pushed back. I may not have any experience under my belt, at the time of applying. Did any of you get into grad school without any experience? Thanks in advance!
  18. That's nice to hear! Do you have an undergrad in SLP or did you take prerequisite classes? I'm looking at Grand Valley State.
  19. Hi there! I have not started applying to grad schools yet, but I will begin the process in December for Fall 2015. I know it is not uncommon to try year after year to get into SLP grad school. That being said, if you aren't accepted into a school, does that school ever give you specific reasons why you weren't accepted? For instance, maybe you didn't have enough or the right pre reqs? Or perhaps they'd like you to gain a little more experience in the field? Or is it plausible to reach out to that school and ask what you can do to better your chances the next time around? Just wondering what the protocol is, for those of you who have experienced the application process.
