Good evening. Does anyone have any information on the acceptance rates into the Ed.D. program at Peabody? I don't live very far but I have never visited the program. I wonder if that will work against me. I know they don't do interviews for the Ed.D. but I feel like meeting people in person may help in applying? Does anyone know the timeline for admissions? I am going to need to apply to other local programs if this doesn't happen. Thanks in advance. There is a lot of information about the Ph.D. but not the Ed.D.

Got my rejection letter today via the website. Oh well! Hopefully I'll get good news from one of the other schools. Best of luck everyone!

GRE Score: V 160, Q 156, AWA 4.5

GPA: 3.18 (B.A)

Work Experience: 4+ years in Higher Education-- Lots of experience with institutions facing significant crisis. My first stop was in the final year of operations for a nearly 170-year-old university that lost its SACS accreditation, and the current spot just made it through a highly publicized Presidential scandal. I work in Access and Enrollment Management and dedicate a lot of time to research into expanding markets and strategic planning. Previously split duties between admissions and enrollment marketing.

Undergraduate / Graduate Institutions: Private

Research Experience: Limited to practical research within the scope of my field. Currently working on two large research projects-- first, in cooperation with our VP, I'm developing a proposal for our Board of Trustees to adjust tuition policies for out-of-state students residing near the state line (we are a Public university). Second, I am working on research for a NACAC presentation on the best practices and data points for high school counselors to consider when guiding students towards school where they will retain.

Applying for PhD or Master’s: Master's, 2015F

Program: M.P.P. Higher Ed Policy and M.Ed. HEA - Higher Ed Policy concentration

What Other Schools Are You Applying To: Just Peabody! Met with the coordinator over Christmas and moved up the timeline from Fall2016 to now. Holding my breath!

Hi everyone,

I saw that two people have posted Masters rejections from Peabody on the results page.  Have any other Masters applicants heard anything?

Posted

I haven't heard anything yet from either the MPP or the MEd.

I have a whole new appreciation for high school seniors I work with in undergraduate admissions!

Nothing yet. I was told last week that admissions decisions will be in "very soon". Still waiting.

Someone messaged me about my post in last year's thread offering to chat with PhD students attending the interview/recruitment weekend.  Forgot to mention I'm willing to do it again this year. Just message me and we can talk about the expectations for the weekend, events, etc.  Good luck to everyone in their cycles!

When I talked to the front desk yesterday they said middle of February. Hopefully it'll be sooner, but we will see!

Bummer, I was really hoping we'd hear by no later than the end of next week.

Middle of February?! For Masters news???

Isn't the masters invitation weekend the 3rd or 4th weekend of February? I feel like that's cutting it very close...

I agree, but I was asking specifically about Masters programs. Hopefully that is the latest possible time they are looking at and we will be happily surprised sooner. From the previous years timelines it looks like it could be any day now!

I agree, Happy91!

To which program and concentration have you applied?

Hello guys!

I have applied for the MPP at Peabody at Vandy for fall 2015; I have received a message from the AdComm yesterday telling me that I have been accepted to the Quantitative Methods (M.Ed) instead; they have also stated that I should reply if I indeed want to join the QM MEd until Feb 6th for them to send the official acceptance letter; therefore I think that the official decisions should be released around that time

Good luck to you all!

I know how the waiting is killing all of us!

Cheers!

I hear that a Ph.D recruitment weekend will be held from 2/13-2/15 (not confirmed yet). If you haven't received an invitation from Peabody, you are not short-listed. Yet, if you haven't received a rejection letter, you still have a chance, as a couple of candidates are rejected after the recruitment event or they decline an admission offer from Peabody and accept an offer from another school.

Any Masters in Higher Ed applicants here? In the last few years it seems like results have gone out this day (last Friday in January.)

I'm dying over here.

Any Community Research and Action applicants hear anything?

Nope! Haven't seen anything on the results page either. Since the website says interviews are mid-Feb, it seems like people should be hearing by now.
