deerye525 Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 Hi everyone! Hope we are all taking a moment to breathe as we're submitting our applications. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on something about CSDCAS. I submitted my application to Chapman University through CSDCAS after they had received all my transcripts, GRE scores, and LORs. I know they have to go through and "verify" my application (which has not yet happened), and I am concerned/confused about whether this has to be completed before Chapman's application deadline (Jan 15). The FAQ on CSDCAS's website isn't clear about whether making the payment and submitting is enough. Is it possible that I submitted everything and they may not complete everything on their end in time to meet the deadline? I'm sure it will be fine but my anxieties are getting the best of me. bindlestiff 1
~Ally~ Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 I really wish that they were more clear on that site. I am in the same boat.
OhioAud Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If you click on the participating programs link on CSDCAS it will give you a list of the programs and their application due dates. The due dates are color coded to show whether the application needs to be submitted, completed, or verified by the stated deadline. According to that page, your application must be verified by January 15th for Chapman. When I submitted my application it took CSDCAS 8 business days to verify it. Hopefully they will have your application verified by the 15th! I hope this was helpful! bindlestiff 1
bindlestiff Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Woah, it took them 8 business days? I am really glad I saw this. I had been feeling a little anxious about the whole verification thing as well, but hadn't given it much thought beyond that. Thank you for posting, deerye525 and OhioAud! bindlestiff 1
lakegirl92 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 If the application needs to be verified by the 15th I would submit it as soon as possible. I am sure they are backed up from all of the applications submitted over the holiday break as well.
Allegro8032 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 In case anyone is looking for the color code link OhioAUD mentioned - it is really helpful in clearing up the deadline confusion: https://portal.csdcas.org/csdcasHelpPages/participating-programs-2/ OhioAud and bindlestiff 2
OhioAud Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Thank you for sharing the link Allegro8032, I was having a difficult time attempting to copy it! Allegro8032 1
Sophia Petrillo Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 FYI....and I'm sorry if this is old news but it tells you on the CSDCAS site what day they are up to for verifying. angel_kaye13 1
bindlestiff Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 FYI....and I'm sorry if this is old news but it tells you on the CSDCAS site what day they are up to for verifying. Sorry, but could you please elaborate? Are you talking about the color coded list that was already mentioned, or is this something else? If it's something else, I'd like to hear about it
neucool Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 After you submit, your main portal will say "currently verifying: Jan 1" or whatever date they are currently working on (referring to the submission date of the applications they are currently processing). bindlestiff and OhioAud 2
Allegro8032 Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Yep. You can find this on the instructions page here which describes all of the statuses that show up on that menu: "Complete Date: The date your application was completed and went in line for verification. Applications are placed in line in chronological order based on their complete date. Complete Date Currently Being Verified: The complete date of applications currently being processed. This information allows you to predict where you are in the verification line. For example, if your complete date is 10/15 and the date currently being verified is 10/14, you likely can expect your application to come up for review soon. Please note that a different number of people turn in their application on any given day, so how long it takes our staff to get through a single complete date often varies." https://portal.csdcas.org/csdcasHelpPages/instructions-and-faq/beginning-the-application/application-statuscsdcas-e-mails-and-notifications/index.html bindlestiff 1
Sophia Petrillo Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 Yes...on the right under "status", once you submit your app, it will show: (This is mine ☺️) Your application is Complete/Not Verified Complete Date: 01/02/15 Complete date currently being verified: 12/27/14 bindlestiff 1
kayyyyy_ Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 CSDCAS has been super quick recently! mine was verified shortly after I submitted! Just make sure you keep checking your status, also under participating programs check the color, blue, green or orange and it will say if it needs to be mailed, verified or just submitted by the date :] hope this helps!
deerye525 Posted January 8, 2015 Author Posted January 8, 2015 Ughahsnnahsjkhdjsal. My fault for not investigating this more thoroughly earlier but I only had one school on CSDCAS. I'm at least glad I submitted when I did but they've only progressed one day over the past three days so I'm genuinely concerned they won't verify mine before the 15th deadline. How annoying. A couple of years ago I applied to law school and their version of CSDCAS was so easy to use. Once I'm a speech pathologist I am going to fight my way into some ASHA committee and make the application process universal and simple for future SLPs.
OhioAud Posted January 8, 2015 Posted January 8, 2015 I'm at least glad I submitted when I did but they've only progressed one day over the past three days so I'm genuinely concerned they won't verify mine before the 15th deadline. When I submitted mine it took them 3 and half days to progress from December 7th to December 8th, but then they verified 3 submission dates during one business day. It's really hard to guess how long it will take them to reach your date, which can be nerve-wracking!
