  1. Hey there. I received an e-mail from Chapman on Tuesday notifying me of my acceptance. Hopefully you hear something soon! Ahhh! That is so crazy. I can't even think about that. CSULA is still my number one choice. I was accepted to Chapman this week and though I feel so relieved to know that I am for sure going to be in a graduate program next fall, I can't say that Chapman has ever been my top choice. It's so expensive and new. I am seriously crossing my fingers for CSULA for you and me both! On that note, has anyone heard anything from CSUN or CSULB? I am assuming since CSULB does interviews, me having not heard anything yet means that I probably wasn't accepted to their program. I haven't heard anything from CSUN though. Do they normally wait until the last possible minute to give decisions?
  2. Ughahsnnahsjkhdjsal. My fault for not investigating this more thoroughly earlier but I only had one school on CSDCAS. I'm at least glad I submitted when I did but they've only progressed one day over the past three days so I'm genuinely concerned they won't verify mine before the 15th deadline. How annoying. A couple of years ago I applied to law school and their version of CSDCAS was so easy to use. Once I'm a speech pathologist I am going to fight my way into some ASHA committee and make the application process universal and simple for future SLPs.
  3. Hi everyone! Hope we are all taking a moment to breathe as we're submitting our applications. I was wondering if anyone could enlighten me on something about CSDCAS. I submitted my application to Chapman University through CSDCAS after they had received all my transcripts, GRE scores, and LORs. I know they have to go through and "verify" my application (which has not yet happened), and I am concerned/confused about whether this has to be completed before Chapman's application deadline (Jan 15). The FAQ on CSDCAS's website isn't clear about whether making the payment and submitting is enough. Is it possible that I submitted everything and they may not complete everything on their end in time to meet the deadline? I'm sure it will be fine but my anxieties are getting the best of me.
  4. It's official--I sent in my last application today! I can't believe it's out of my hands now. Best of luck to everyone this application season!
  5. Also got that e-mail today and responded right away! I am so excited to begin this journey! Congrats to everyone who heard today!!
  6. Just called the CSULA office to make sure I wasn't missing anything from my application (as it was still listed as 'incomplete') and the woman I spoke with said that that means they just haven't made a decision (as I had already verified back in March that my transcripts were received) and that they would be making decisions within the next 5-7 business days and to call the office if you don't hear by then as she will have the list. Ahhhh!
  7. Anyone have any information on when CSUN typically notifies people? It seems the CSULA typically starts admitting at the end of May.
  8. I'm so glad to find others in the same situation as myself! I was so hungry for more information and already this thread has helped tremendously. I too was getting a little tired reading through all the old posts for information from years ago. Speaking of information from years ago, it seems that people mentioned finding out about the CSU schools in May. If I'm remembering right, when I spoke with CSULA, they said June, but I suspect they may have just been over-estimating to be on the safe side. I don't even think the application deadline has officially passed, so letting UW-Madison know before might be tricky! We will all have to let each other know once we start hearing back from them!
  9. Hey everyone, There were some helpful past posts on this subject on the forum and they have been super helpful to me in making the decision to switch from my current job (working in film production) to SLP. I wanted to start a new one to see whether there were any other people here going through this process currently so we could share experiences and stories. I applied to the program at CSUN and CSULA and am feeling a little anxious about whether or not I will get in. I spoke with a great admissions rep at CSULA a couple of weeks ago who basically said they just calculate the GPAs of the applications and start offering admission from the top of the list until they fill the 30 spots (he said last year about 300 applied). I have a 3.86 from my undergrad degree but I know everything SLP related is super competitive. I started volunteering at an SLP org a couple of months ago and the more I grow to love the work I do there the more I grow to resent my current job so I'm really, really banking on getting into one of these two programs. Just the lack of information has made me all anxious! Any others in the post-bacc boat?
  10. Hi Everyone, I've been trying to find out as much information about the post-bac programs in southern california but the websites for the CSU schools aren't the most informative. I am coming in a little late to the game, but I applied to CSUN and CSULA for their post-bac programs last week. I sent in the applications and sent over my official transcripts but haven't heard anything from the schools. If anyone has experience with these two, I would love if you could help me out by answering some of these questions: 1. How many people get accepted to these post-bac programs typically? It makes me wonder how many people apply/how many get accepted when the application really only takes your transcripts into consideration. I had a 3.85 in my undergrad, so I'm hoping that is good enough! 2. Does FAFSA count for this program? Or is it mostly all out of pocket? 3. Is it possible to have at least a part time job throughout? 4. Do you get grades in the classes that you report when applying for grad schools? I would super appreciate any feedback y'all could give. Thank so much!
