I'm a B.S. EE and got in last week also.  I didn't have any interview beforehand and think that was mainly a CS thing.  Has anyone received any more information besides that given in the acceptance email?

Yesterday (Saturday) I received an email providing more information about the visit day.

Hmmm . . . maybe EE is just slow or something.  I haven't received anything besides the initial email.  Probably call them tomorrow.

No, it's common practice. Accepts get their emails on the same day early February. Rejects never hear a thing until they log onto the webpage early March. I don't know about waitlists, though. I am sure you can find out through the results search.

Sorry, confusing wording.  By "initial email" I mean I got the acceptance email.  I just haven't gotten anything else about visiting day.  Since I imagine that each area has their own schedule and plans for visiting day, EE may not have sent theirs out yet while CS already has.

Oh, sorry, didn't see you were accepted. :) But still, my previous email might be of some use to people who still seem to be waiting for an email about results.

Last year there were a few late admits on here for MIT (several weeks after the initial wave of admits). My guess is that's why they don't outright reject everyone right away. That way if they don't get the people they want most, they can admit another for the same professor, or something along those lines. Or for some schools, they go over the list of everyone they're planning to reject and make sure they didn't miss anything. The only school I've seen that actually makes all decisions at the same time is Stanford.

Yeah I bet that's what it is since I had applied for CSAIL. I wouldn't worry about it. Congrats on the admission.

Any more recent news? :) Admits & Rejects?

Last week, I got an email mentioning funding as an RA for the first year from CSAIL.

The general email? Or an email with detailed info, e.g. the amount of money?

Not with detailed info, but it did specify RA. Not sure whether it was a general email

i think we are talking about the same email. :)

I thought that the acceptance would put my mind at ease, but I now realize that will never be the case.  Right now is funding, next it's advisor, then it's quals . . . the worrying will never end.

Just received an official notification that I've been put on the waitlist (with approximately 50 other students) and that my official decision will arrive by late March. I had no idea this was even a thing. Any idea what my chances of admission are at this point?

Same. In the letter it says only 1 or 2 people are typically accepted off the waitlist.

At this point, I'd be happy to get any e-mail, be it acceptance or rejection, and move on.

The wait is so nerve-wracking ;(

Finally got a rejection e-mail today.

I wasn't holding my breath on this, but... Oh well.

I somehow haven't gotten rejected yet. knockonwood

It'll probably be like Berkeley where they'll give me 24 hours to feel a tiny semblance of hope and then reject me in the second wave

I had about two hours from when they starting sending them to when I got mine: good luck!
