Got acceptance letter and POI will call me, what to expect in that call?

Hi,

 

I have recently received an acceptance letter and my POI will call me in a few hours. What to expect in that call? I don't think it will be an interview because they already offered me an admission offer. I guess I can still ask him questions about the program and their research. I think I'll first thank him for the admission offer and then if he permits, I'll ask him some questions about their program and their research. I also don't want to accept their offer in this moment because I'm waiting for other schools results.

That's exactly right! Just ask him questions, thank him for the offer and tell him you are excited about it and will get back to him before April 15.

I had one of these.  It is just them welcoming you and checking your interest to make sure that they are not holding a spot for someone who got a better offer somewhere else and isn't going to come.  You've marketed yourself to them, now it is It's their turn to market their school to you.  Ask them questions about the program if you want to.  And celebrate, you've been accepted!! You don't have to give your answer yet though, just say you are interested and will get back with them.
