ayir Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) Hi, I received an email today from Fletcher (I much appreciate this gesture). The staff mentioned reviewing my application (used "enjoyed reading" - and I start over analyzing) and that the decision will be out in March. The email was personalised and mentioned my work experience. Did anyone else receive it? What does it mean? Edited February 10, 2015 by ayir
ZebraFinch Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I did not get it from Tufts (sadly, this is my dream school), but did receive similar emails from Korbel and Georgetown. I'm of the belief that any non-negative news is good news, so, take it as a good sign!
MJA87 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 All it means is that they've reviewed your application and that the decision will be out in March. There's really nothing more to read into.
acm14 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Also got that email from Fletcher, with the same phrasing of "enjoyed reading about" my work experience. Same feelings as you -- appreciate the gesture, would love to read into it as a good sign, but know that it's almost certainly just a nice gesture that was sent in identical fashion to every applicant, meant to placate us and calm our nerves rather than imply good news. Womp.

Policykid Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I got the email too.. Was excited for a moment, but the bubble's burst... @OneLove and ZebraFinch -- when did you guys turn in your applications?
Policykid Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 (edited) This thread is getting a lot of eyeballs but very few responses.. .. Come out those who got the emails !!!! Edited February 11, 2015 by Policykid
ayir Posted February 11, 2015 Author Posted February 11, 2015 I guess it is just a good gesture mail. Now that my excitement has died down, let me just get back to the waiting game.
ZebraFinch Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I got the email too.. Was excited for a moment, but the bubble's burst... @OneLove and ZebraFinch -- when did you guys turn in your applications? The two days before the January deadline. This school was a huge longshot for me, so I'm thinking they sent those emails to those who had applications more worthy than just being thrown in the trash.

Hey ZebraFinch.. i'm sure it isn't that... they probably are sending out those emails in batches as they review the applications and yours is yet to be reviewed.. stay strong..
Guest Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 @Policykid I submitted my application on Jan 7. I'm going for the MALD program though.

Bombaygunner Posted February 13, 2015 Posted February 13, 2015 I got a similar email. I'm not sure how much to read into it other than simply acknowledging that it's a nice gesture. Better than a "Dear Applicant, here are some events on campus that you will probably not go to"

Better than a "Dear Applicant, here are some events on campus that you will probably not go to" Yupp true that. It is indeed a very kind gesture on the part of the Adcom to reach out to applicants and offer their help in case of any queries.

Fall2015 Posted March 3, 2015 Posted March 3, 2015 I applied to Tufts MALD and did not get such email Was the email a personalized one? I had low GRE score (mid 150) but thought I may still be a solid candidate given my int'l development work experience.
