I've read all sorts of views on it, but I'm not sure of the answer still. On what type of paper should I print my CV that I bring with me to interviews? I've heard from some just to use regular geberal purpose paper, while others say nothing short of Southworth 32lb 100% cotton would suffice. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

I highly doubt you will actually be giving anyone your CV, so I wouldn't waste some fancy paper on it. If you need a copy of your CV at all you can just have it on normal paper. I didn't bring CVs at all to my interview and it was fine (in fact, I think it would have been somewhat awkward to give out my CV).

Are you sure I wouldn't need any? I was just concerned because different sources have suggested to carry some in case faculty I interview with don't have a copy. Not to mention, I've changed jobs since I applied, do my CV has changed. I guess regular paper, if any, then?

I would definitely print out a few to bring with you just to be safe—even on the slimmest possibility that anybody asks you for one, it's preferable to have one ready to go than not. I think regular paper is fine and more commonly used nowadays, but if you wanted to use fancy resume paper, I'm sure nobody would hold it against you.

I'm applying to psychology - I got it printed on resume paper at Office Max - cost me only a few dollars. I didn't want to spend $20+ to Buy a thing of resume paper and print at home. I've had three interviews and haven't been asked for a copy of my CV yet. But, I still bring it just in case...

Just regular paper should be fine (as long as you are not using really crappy paper for your printer at home). If you do buy paper, I would go for something in the $8 range for 500 sheets.

I have never given an academic interviewer a copy of my CV/resume during the interview (although I did have one in a folder just in case). I always offer it at the start of the session, but they either do not want it, or if they did, they would have already printed their own copy with notes etc. If your CV has changed enough that it's worth an update, then you might mention it and see if they are interested.

Just got back from mine. All of my interviewers had my app up on their computer when I walked in and didn't want my CV since they had it. I brought it just in case but didn't need it.

Thanks for the update! I greatly appreciate the insight :)
