Cpoco Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 To those who have experiences in philosophy and theoretical writings, I have a question. What is the prose style, upon seen by most professors, will start to get their heads nodding right away? Or is it that the style doesn't really matter as long as the argument is solid? On the other side, what prose(s) will immediately raise a red flag and get frowned upon? If so, what trends or ecology do you think this reflects in today's English speaking theory world?
gowiththeflow Posted March 5, 2015 Posted March 5, 2015 Very good questions. I would be interested in people's answers as well. Sorry I can't help.
tspier2 Posted March 6, 2015 Posted March 6, 2015 I imagine this is largely dependent upon the field, but I've heard pretty consistently that adherence to the active voice and Grice's Maxims is recommended.
