smcg Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 I'm a first timer to this experience, so I'm not well-versed in why certain things happen. o far, what I have gleaned from this and other websites is that, for the most part, schools will pick 2-3 "first round definitely yes" candidates, and those candidates are offered admission immediately. This is followed by "yes," "waitlist," etc. I was very fortunate to be a "definitely yes" (I think), as I was offered admission on Jan. 26. However, there was no funding offered as of yet, whatsoever. Isn't it usually a given that someone who is offered admission that early also be offered funding of some sort?
isilya Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 Generally the funding offer comes separate from the acceptance email. They are probably still figuring out funding. Don't worry, they will give you a funding offer before you need to make your decision.
Zoethor2 Posted February 22, 2015 Posted February 22, 2015 It's possible to get an unfunded first round admit. Typically it would mean that you're waitlisted for funding. But isilya is correct that funding offers don't always arrive simultaneous to admission offers. I don't think you would be out of line to email back and inquire about when you will hear about funding/your funding status, given it's been nearly a month.
