professorwiki Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 It turned out that one of the letters of recommendations a professor sent to the Medical University of South Carolina had been lost in the mail. I was contacted by the school and informed of this, with the phrasing "If you want to be considered for a seat this fall, make sure that the letter of recommendation is sent." I responded to the email stating that it must have been lost in the mail, but that I will inform my professor so he can send another copy. Would they even contact me personally like that if they were not considering me at this point? It's almost March, so I would hope to start hearing something about the applications I have done in the next couple of weeks.
MathCat Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I wouldn't read too much into it. It could be that only admin people have looked at it so far. If it is in the hands of the committee already, I would take it as a good sign, but don't assume you're in yet,
Henry Hudson Posted February 24, 2015 Posted February 24, 2015 I ditto MathCat, although I once had such an acceptance just waiting for that one delayed recommendation. So it could be nothing, or it could be something. I suggest keeping hopes positive but not way up in the clouds. hyronomus4 1
