I heard back from La Salle today.. Wait listed, came through the mail. How long does it typically take to hear off of a wait list? You guys may not know, just figured I'd throw it out there.

I was accepted off of La Salle's waitlist (a couple years ago) in June.

I got accepted to La Salle today, but most likely will not be attending. Hope the spot opens up for someone else on the waitlist!

I received notice today that I was wait listed.. does anyone know how many people are usually on the wait list? Also, how does the rankings work for the wait list? Thanks for all of your help! I'm anxious too.. this was my top school, trying to remain hopeful!

Does anyone know anything about La Salle's program, specifically their reputation or any students that have attended their Master's in Speech program?

I don't know too much about La Salle's program but I do know two people who are in and neither had anything bad to say about it when I told them I was applying. The only concern I could tell you is that its not in the best area of Philadelphia, definitely something you might want to consider. Commuting from a different location in the city is always an option.

La Salle's program is great.  The professors are wonderful, and from what I've heard the master's program does a great job preparing its students for the profession.  What some people may not know is that La Salle has a five year master's program.  Students who are in the five year program start taking their graduate classes during the first semester of their senior year and then get their master's after their fifth year at La Salle.  Students who enter in the master's program after completing their undergrad degree join the class of the five year students.  So if you were to attend La Salle in the fall, about half of your class would consist of college seniors who are completing their last two undergrad speech courses and taking the same graduate courses that you would be taking.  My only worry about being in a class with the five year students is that half of the class already knows each other well.  I would feel like I was at a bit of a disadvantage coming in and trying to make friends, but I've heard from master's students that this is not the case.  Everyone is welcoming and happy to get to know each other.  But really I have nothing bad to say about the program.  The professors are extremely knowledgable and are always willing to help you.
