David-Gal Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 I am admitted to three schools for MA program and all three have offered scholarships, two full and one half. My top choice is the one which has offered half scholarship, how can I politely negotiate this matter with the admission office? How can I ask if they can increase or offer a full scholarship? Does anyone have any experience on this? I can imagine the wordings and the litter of an e-mail for such an issue must be unique, I would be extremely grateful if anyone could share anything with me. Thanks
Crucial BBQ Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 (edited) While I am yet to be a grad student I do know that with some of the programs I am looking at MS students can request additional fundings (through the advisor and/or department) that generally seem to come in the form of odd jobs around campus (working in the program director's office, for the DGS, in the library, etc.). Not sure if that is what you are looking for. It will not hurt to ask your advisor. Edited March 1, 2015 by Crucial BBQ
GeoDUDE! Posted March 1, 2015 Posted March 1, 2015 If your top choice is higher ranked then it is unlikely that you will be able to leverage your other 2 offers. You might try these threads: There are many others actually, so if your interested i just searched "negotiating" Have fun! MidwesternAloha and David-Gal 2
