stats_nj Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Hello. First time user here. I was wondering if anyone knew which Statistics PhD programs were strong in the area of spatial statistics and/or spatio-temporal statistics? I've heard NCSU is good, but I don't know about any other schools.
bayessays Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Ohio State, Missouri, Colorado State have good spatial groups.
StatsG0d Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 Texas A&M and Penn State have a lot of promising young faculty researching spatial statistics.
stats_nj Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Thanks so much @bayessays and @footballman2399. I heard that Dr. Noel Cressie is no longer at OSU. Does that diminish the value of the OSU spatial stats program?
Ergodic Posted March 4, 2015 Posted March 4, 2015 There is Peter Craigmile at OSU and Dan Cooley at Colorado State. They are quite famous in Spatial Statistics.
stats_nj Posted March 4, 2015 Author Posted March 4, 2015 Great. So would you all say that the stats program with a strong spatial research group are: Ohio State Colorado State Missouri Penn State Texas A&M Any other come to mind?
