Hi Everyone!

I am considering applying to master's programs in London in the field of mental health. The U.K. has a plethora of degree options. In the long run, I would like to work with the SMI population as a clinician, gain my PhD in clinical psychology, and be able to work in either the U.S.A. or the U.K.

Some programs I've looked at are:

MSc Mental Health Studies at King's College

MSc in Foundations in Clinical Psychology & Health Services at Goldsmiths

MSc in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at UCL

MSc in Psychosocial Interventions at Bucks New University

I need advice as to which kind of degree will be easiest to practice with in the U.S. and which is employable in the U.K. Also, any information that is pertinent to being able to work between the two countries would be very helpful (i.e. accreditations to look for, types of programs to avoid, licensure considerations, etc.).

Hi, I am currently obtaining my MSc in Health Psych from King's College London so I am a bit biased but I can say that the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology, Neuroscience (IoPPN) is #2 in the world (Harvard is #1) and if you did your MSc at KCL you would be under the IoPPN. Anyone who is in the psych field knows of the IoPPN regardless of whether you apply after in the US or in the UK and a majority of people get jobs afterwards. I also highly rec. UCL since its also a really renowned school.
