Hello guys,

I'm still waiting my top choice.

in the results page, many students who have the same major as me got accepted or rejected since Feb until  late March.

I do not know what does that mean?

is it very likely that I'm on informal wait list?

I called the department two times before. they usually give me the same answer " if u have not received a notification yet from us, it means ur application is still under review"

They seem do not want to provide any information by phone.

I have another offer but the time is running out. I have to accept the offer by the end of April.

Although I am only speculating, it certainly sounds like you are on an inofficial waitlist.  I was "under review" for quite some time before I was told I was on a waitlist.  They might never even tell you that you are on a waitlist and just stall contacting you until they know if they can accept you.

When I was accepted off the waitlist, I was given a deadline of May 1st to accept - so I am theorizing that:
1. There might be some people who either requested extensions on the original April 15th deadline and are still deliberating.

OR

2. If the school is already working its way down the waitlist and sent out a volley of acceptances, those chosen might have a similar deadline to my own.

I hope that if this is the case, everyone makes a speedy decision and gives you enough time to make the right decision.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you Hani!

It sounds you are in some kind of waitlist. In the worst case scenario, you could accept your other choice and rescind it later if you are in your main choice... At least in theory...

The head of my department emailed me today asking me why there is a big difference between my self reported GPA and the GPA in the offical transcript.

Actually, I had my master from UK.

The GPA system there is out of 100.

I evaluated my transcripts at WES.

They gave me a evaluatoin report with a GPA 3.67 .

I'm suprised that he said my GPA in the officail transcripts says 3.00. I do not where he found this. No GPA out of 4 in my transcripts!
