Got accepted at Arizona State today. still waiting this university !

Nothing so far. I have other offers. But this university is my top choice. My employer is asking me to submit my offer. Time is running out ! 5 months to review my application! That's too much.

I sent him back after 10 days, not two days. I agree with you. Usually, If yes they will say it. That's what made me nervous!

I sent him today that I want to make sure he got my previous email. He replied " Yes, we received it and have acted on your case." How is that ? I'm so nervous !

I contacted the graduate admission office. When she checked my status she stopped for a seconds like she know something but then she said you will hear in two weeks. I was not informed of any waiting list. I have an external funding. Hope this will help get in. Thanks guys.

Do you think I have a good chance ?

I applied to this university on Dec 15 which was the deadline itself. I have been waiting so long. On April 28, I got an email from the head of the department. He said we have reveiwed your application but we have a question. He was asking about my GPA. I had my master from UK and the grade system there is totally different from that of USA. So he asked me to explain the difference. I replied to his email the same day but I have not got any news from him so far. Should I email him asking about my application status? or just contact the admission office ? or just wait ? I'm also worry that my email got into his junk mail

I was emailed by the head of tge department. He said we reviewed your application but we have a question. I ansewred his question. Do u think guys this is a good sign ?

The head of my department emailed me today asking me why there is a big difference between my self reported GPA and the GPA in the offical transcript. Actually, I had my master from UK. The GPA system there is out of 100. I evaluated my transcripts at WES. They gave me a evaluatoin report with a GPA 3.67 . I'm suprised that he said my GPA in the officail transcripts says 3.00. I do not where he found this. No GPA out of 4 in my transcripts!

Hello guys, I'm still waiting my top choice. in the results page, many students who have the same major as me got accepted or rejected since Feb until late March. I do not know what does that mean? is it very likely that I'm on informal wait list? I called the department two times before. they usually give me the same answer " if u have not received a notification yet from us, it means ur application is still under review" They seem do not want to provide any information by phone. I have another offer but the time is running out. I have to accept the offer by the end of April.

UW = rejected Waiting for 4 schools.

I have been admitted to a phD program in civil engineering at Iowa state. I was not going to apply to this university until last two hours before the deadline and I got the first acceptance from them (Thanks God I applied) I'm really happy that i secured one offer. Waiting to hear from 5 schools. How is Iowa State university? reputation? ranking ...etc. please if you know something about this university let me know . Thank you

Calling schools would be helpful sometimes. I applied to 7 schools for phD. no school emailed me so far. I called all of them. one school accepted me and one rejected me. But no official acceptance so far. I called the remaining 5 schools yesterday. All of them said : your application is still under review. 3 of them started sending acceptances and rejections one month ago. ( Am I a waitlisted ? I do not know ! ) Tow of the 5 schools, I'm sure they have not sent anything to anyone.

u have already publication and your file is saying this person is promising. Try to make connections with professors who specialized in materials science. Try to work with them. If not possible, I will go to some of them and explain to them my problem. They will have a look at your profile. They will not mind giving u recommendation if they believe in u. I think getting recommendations from professors who is area in material science is really important. I read a lot about students who got accepted in many schools in USA. I can frankly tell u that I realized that many of them attribute their acceptances to LORs. Another point I strongly suggest u to do it is to take the subject test. Even if it is not required by some schools but I believe it will make a difference.

GRE is not everything. I was surprised that many students with a high GRE score got rejected ( above 165 ). my advice to you : get LORs from people who involved in academic life. ( really important ). you will be fine.

Deadline is 1 March and u heard 3 times from them in the same month. They informed u two times that u r admitted and now you r worry because u did not hear from them since 20th of March. I'm almost 4 months since I applied to 5 universities and I did not hear any single word. if u are worry what should I do ? u r not just fine. u will probably get funding, assitantship and everything ( probably the degree u applied for )

every week, I give them a call except my top choice. one lady in one department becomes aware of me when I call. but She is very nice. I called one time the department at my top choice: me : can I ask about my application status? her: did u receive notification? me: no her: that means your application is still under review. me: ok thank you

I just finished a call with the civil engineering department at UCLA. They said my application is still under review. I saw several acceptances and rejections from the same department in the result research. I do not know what does that mean ?!!
