your scores are impressive. However, to get teaching assistantship with the speaking score u have, it is almost impossible. some universities have their own English test for teaching assistanship .

I got accepted at Iowa state Universty.( phD admission in civil engineering ). Still waiting for 5 programs. I would like to know how is iowa state university ? It it a good school ? How is Engineering program there?

I contacted university of washington. They said April 15 is the deadline for acceptences with funding only. So,after April 15 there will be some offers but without funding.

I've just got an email from WSU telling me I'm rejected. It was expected for several reasons: 1- My research area does not fit with department's research areas. 2- I applied because I saw one prof. has a similar research area in her profile. I contacted her, she said to me I do not hire students (I did not understand her reply. I do not know what does "hire" mean ?I thought she misunderstood me because for me, "hire" means I'm looking for job) Emails after mid-night are almost rejections as I see from others.

I submitted a letter with the application from my empolyer that he will pay everything. I do not think the university will pay me. It may be just teaching because I have teaching experience.

She mentioned something about assistanship. What is that ?

Is your major civil engineering ? If so, contact the department and ask about your admission status. That's what I have done. Also they said you should recieve email by next week.

I contacted Iowa State University. I have been recommended for admission by the department.

7 programs.no single word from any of them. does that mean I'm almost rejected? after reading many comments in the this forum, I understand that if I have not heard anything by this time. I'm rejected. is that true?

How low ur gre score?

If they want to reject u. They will find a reason. If they want to accept u. They will not care about ur low GRE score. Admission process is not predictable at all.

it will not increase your admission chances in all universities. in some universities, they evaluate every application regardless their funding. I'm at the same situation as you are. after I submitted my application i emailed the department about my external funding. they said to me we do not need this information now. if u were admitted you can tell us about ur funding. in general, some top programs do not care about ur funding. I know more than one applicant who was rejected at USC last year despite the fact that all of them have full funding from their government.

this university is not my top choice. it happened the same with my top choice. I saw some rejections and acceptances here on gradcafe. I contacted the program they said "still under review" i think I'm not the best applicant but not bad also. ( i do not have research experience ) i think because i have external funding they keep my application until the end. my friend is studying in Arizona state university and he talked with a professor about my application. he said he is funded why we do not accept him. that is really give me a big hope.

at least you need to increase your writing score. the verbal score, I saw some got admitted with 145,146 so I do not think it will hurt your chances. the letters of recommendations are a requirement, therefore, if you do not provide them these letters you will be rejected. I remember I applied to Imperial college and they ask me for 3 letters of recommendations. one professor did not submit his recommendation online. I got my rejection very early. I assume that if your profile is not complete ( include all the requirements ) it will not be passed to the department.

The only thing that may worry u that they forget your application. Otherwise, I think if they did not answer you that means they want u and try to find a place for u.

I have just called one university. they said to me your status is still under review and that a good news for u. I said to her how? she said that some rejections already have been sent.

send both. I have talked to more than one university about sending two GRE tests results. They told me to send both. The university will combine the best scores.

Great scores but I was surprised that some students got rejected with similar scores.
