When will I get started getting paid from the stipend at Ohio State?

Hello everyone,

 

I will be attending the Ohio State University this fall for a PhD program and I am wondering if anyone knows when you receive your first paycheck? This is important as I am moving in late July and I need to know how much money I need to save up for rent and food.

It's very likely you won't get a check until a few weeks into the semester. (Mine is paid out on the last business day of each month, as an example.) You may also be expected to pay student fees in that first month, so budget for that, too.

Ask the program admin assistant, they'll either know or will point you to who does know. This is the exact type of question they are there to answer.

I'm at Ohio State now.  You'll get paid at the end of August, but it will be a half paycheck.  You get the other half of it at the end of May.
