How to deal with a person who gave up on me long ago..

Do anyone watch Bigbang theory? In one episode Howard got a letter from his father and finally burnt it. Well, the real thing comes to me I wish him have a normal and good life, but hesitate whether to contact with him....

Bad English writing..I just want to know how others would deal with these things.Many thanks.

I wouldn't give that person the chance. Period.

 

I, however, suggest you contact a professional. I didn't believe it, but psycologist's got some amazing tools to deal with this kind of issues.(For instance, they have some exercises that will allow you to understand if you want to give him a chance or not, at the bottom).

I was in a similar situation and gave him a chance... best decision I ever made. We are incredibly close now. Remember that everyone makes mistakes.
