GeoD Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 It's now May 18th and I haven't heard from 3 of the 6 PhD programs that I applied to for Fall 2015. Honestly, I'm starting to question whether I ever will. Seems unprofessional to not officially inform an applicant of a decision and I hope that that won't be the case. Anyone else in the same boat or heard of this happening in the past?
peachypie Posted May 18, 2015 Posted May 18, 2015 I've heard of it occurring to others. I'd encourage you to reach out to those schools at this point. I would assume it is a rejection at this point unfortunately, but if you are looking for closure or feedback this would be a good opportunity for it.

GeoD Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 Thanks everyone. I have attempted to contact these 3 remaining schools multiple times. Two of the schools eventually replied with a "no decisions had been made", and I've received no reply from the 3rd program (despite contacting 3 different people in the department). At this point I will be moving forward with alternative plans. I am disappointed but such is life... . Waitingimpatientlybostonu 1
shadowclaw Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I'm still waiting on 2 PhD programs. I broke down and finally emailed one. I'm on the wait list and they have two pending offers out to students who haven't replied yet. Should one decline, there will be space for me. They indicated that it will still take a couple weeks to get the cohort finalized, so I imagine the students who haven't replied still have a little while left to respond. Waitingimpatientlybostonu 1
ITeachNY Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Keep hope! I just heard from NYU Steinhardt today. I applied on time (November 4th), was wait listed on March 6th, and followed up twice by email to say I would like to stay on the list and would wait patiently. I never called nor asked when I could expect to hear by. Then this morning I received a financial aid package which made me check my application status. There was no posted deadline to accept by, but it was the only school to take me this round, so I paid the deposit today. June! You never know! Waitingimpatientlybostonu 1
